4130 Pipe

RBV Energy supply pipe in ASTM A519 grade 4130 and API 5L grade X52, available in sizes 2” to 7”, with wall thicknesses from XXS and heavier.

The hot-finished 4130 seamless pipe is produced by using an extrusion or rotary piercing process, and is supplied quenched and tempered to enhance the mechanical properties.

The alloying elements in 4130 pipe are Chromium and Molybdenum, which give the material an excellent strength to weight ratio.  It is easily welded and considerably stronger and harder than standard steel tubes.

RBV Energy 4130 pipe is suitable for sour H2S service (in accordance with NACE MR-01-75) as standard and comes with BS EN 10204 3.2 certification.

4130 Pipe International Standards

Every 4130 pipe that is supplied by RBV Energy is provided to customers in accordance with the following international standards, where applicable:

• API spec 5L: American petroleum institute specification for line pipe
• NACE MR 01 75: Sulphide Stress Corrosion Cracking Resistant Metallic Materials for Oil Field Equipment
• ASME B16.10: Welded and Seamless Wrought Steel Pipes
• ASTM: American Society for Testing and Materials. As standard, 4130 pipes are supplied with material certification to BS EN 10204 3.1. If required though, any 4130 pipe can also be provided with material certification to BS EN 10204 3.2.

4130 Pipe Specifications

While 4130 tubing is made to the standard pipe schedule in the oil and gas sector, the equipment uses A519 4130 when it comes to the controlling seamless specification. As a result, the steel is heat treated either to L80, P110 or the specified properties set out by the customer. Easily welded, the material of 4130 pipes is usually used for applications which are above ground. Using the same 4130 chemistry, RBV Energy can also manufacture and supply fittings, flanges and other piping components.
