RBV Energy were asked by a customer to find a way to transfer 800m3 of volatile, carcinogenic residual vapour from a storage sphere to allow for inspection and maintenance of the sphere. By collaborating with gas experts and a vacuum compressor manufacturer, we were able to provide a bespoke fully automated, three stage vacuum compressor skid which by constantly monitoring temperature and vacuum levels, automatically selected the optimum combination of compressors and speed of operation to ensure that the vapour was transferred within its safe storage parameters to the receiving vessel.
